“Thus says the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way and walk therein, and, ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, we will not walk therein.” (Jer 6:16)
At a Saskatchewan native church camp meeting in 2005 a brother from Washington spoke words regarding increased spiritual woes for First Nations Reserves if there was not a turning from the ways of man and back toward God. I knew his words to be truth for the Lord had been speaking similar things to me since my return to Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan after some thirty years of absence from the community. For well over a decade the Lord has spoken to me of a final wave of the Holy Spirit to take place in Canada prior to the return of Jesus for His church as a “bride without spot or wrinkle”. He has spoken of His intended use of native sons to spearhead a cleansing of the church through a humbling of the arrogant and pride-filled white assemblies and mega ministries of North America. I have written and spoken at length to this matter in different nations and churches of the world. Throughout this time the Lord had me put forth His message based on a single drumbeat of the repentance necessary to such fruition of purpose. It is the repentance of individuals first and assemblies following that comprises a walk of cleansing Holiness with Christ that some men try to term revival. However, the modern church is nowhere close to the truth of such an idea of revival that it proclaims and desires, for all it does is seek to display gifts of the spirit as somehow proof of correct positioning with God. Most assemblies shall remain scampering around in an endless cycle of spiritual manifestations for they will not choose to walk in the old paths and many others will remain entranced by lying signs and wonders.
The Lord has spoken to me that the only way the prophecy surrounding a spiritual cleansing through our native brothers will mature is by their refusal to compromise Christ in any manner through speaking His word without fear or favor. This must take place first within their personal households, their immediate church families and all assemblies He places within their paths. To do this they must position themselves properly within His word and deal a deathblow to the native spiritualism infecting the church and holding them back. And, as with all churches they need to deal with usurping of spiritual authority by their women and doctrines of demons blowing throughout the greater church world. The native brothers following Jesus must soon wrench their first nations faces out of the white trough of prosperity many are buried in or they shall never come up to fulfill the calling of Christ upon their lives. While there are flare-ups of hope in some Inuit communities the general moral attrition of the native peoples has only worsened since the days of weeping David Manes telling us that Elijah Harper was the ‘new Elijah’ that would lead the church. It was not hard to determine that David was in deception in such statement for he was also involving himself in sacred Indian smoke ceremonies and joining in the offering up of traditional native chants. As I wrote one native brother in position of spiritual leadership: “It is you that must first repent or the people that you have been raised among shall grow fatter, sicker, sadder, with every form of sexual perversion and disease further multiplying itself upon your reserve as it is blanketing nearly all the ‘first nations’ lands.” Our native brothers must conduct their assemblies as shown in the Bible and remove themselves from patterns the Devil has embedded deeply in most denominations throughout the world. The alternative of turning from the muck burying the white church and spiritualism of their ancestors, through returning to the old ways of the Bible, is to wallow more deeply in the filth of this world. Leaders on the reserves can kick dust in the face of the devil or face a further drying up and destruction on their lands as the sodomites prowl, the drug addicts deal and men abuse young women as children howl through the drunkenness of the nights when nobody remains at home. For certitude bingo has replaced the Bible on most First Nations lands. I write this while living on first nations land at the north end of scenic Vancouver Island but I might just as well be on West Hastings in Vancouver or the flesh pit of Cairns, Australia. The same evil puss is oozing throughout the world and I sometimes wonder why I expect the Christian Indian to rise to the fore at this time and then I recall the simple fact the Lord has spoken to me that He is calling them to the task. I know that many are called but few are chosen, so I keep looking at the native brothers to see who the Lord is raising up to cleanse this filthy land as all creation groans, waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God.
The scripture tells us: “Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses. Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.” (1Ti 5:17-21) In this writing I am not leveling an accusation but issuing a warning cry to sobriety and vigilance in the face of the enemy, and encouragement to walk the trail of great victories in Christ the Lord has prepared for all of us, if my native brothers in Christ rise to the battle at this time. No matter what may occur in the days that are ahead please remember “a friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” (Proverbs 17:17) The closer we get to the signing of the Agreement securing the Peace of Jerusalem for seven years the greater shall be the persecution of Christians. Like Jesus one must determine now: “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night comes, when no man can work.” (John 9:4)
In 1995 the Lord impacted me with a vision of the final outpouring of his Holy Spirit preparatory for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. He showed me a colorless rainbow with one end touching down on the nation of Papua New Guinea and the other terminating on the north end of Vancouver Island. He displayed angels and men at two different levels: the men moving back and forth with goods and gifts, while the angels guarded the spirits of men. He showed me the colorless rainbow touching down in Canada and spreading from there in shimmering colored waves across Canada and the Pacific Northwest. There was healing and cleansing being radiated about the land. He also showed me a wave of fire like a tsunami rolling south from Port Hardy to cleanse and separate all Island churches through to the sin drenched pit of Victoria. This God stated was to be His final wave of the Holy Spirit and when I finally got to Port Hardy with the message I had been given I was told that this was a confirmation of prophecy of sorts that had come a few years prior from Korea. Yong Gi Cho had called the local Pentecostal Church from Seoul Korea asking where Port Hardy was for God had spoken to him that it was from here the final outpouring of the Holy Spirit was to erupt from Canada.
With regard to Papua New Guinea the Lord had given me a message of a flood of missionaries to minister from there to the ends of the earth with the fire of God upon them. Among other events He spoke to a reunification of the island under Jesus Christ, with the part at that time called West Irian to be wrenched from Islamic domination. In 1996 I left Canada to deliver the message to Papua New Guinea the Lord had told me to. Arriving in Port Moresby in the late afternoon I found lodging and was led of the Spirit to a church the following day. It was to prove to be the home church of the leading evangelist within the nation at that time. It was during my second service of the morning that the Lord brought brothers to me and the Lord acted for all clearly recognized through my first words of explanation for being there that I had been sent of God. Part of what I delivered had already been spoken within the nation, but even more impacting confirmation came a few days later at a meeting of some dozen local church pastors that I went to attend. As I entered the room a man I had not seen prior pointed at me and spoke to Pastor Joseph Walters of Harvest Ministries International, saying: “That’s the one. That’s the man.” The Lord had shown him my face clearly in a vision he had spoken of the year prior. Since that day I have ministered among remote tribal groups and trudged the jungle to be with the rebel army along the border between Papua New Guinea and West Irian. I have been the only white face marching in the cries for freedom for the Papuan Christians in the city of Jaya Pura and looking for an end to the genocide perpetuated by the Indonesian government. I can relate stories from the raising of the dead in the southern Philippines to disappearing in the midst of gun toting Islamic foes. I have tested the spirits every step of the way and the Lord has had to pick me up and dust me off many times but I have never doubted what has been shown and spoken to me. I state these things for only one reason and that is not to draw attention to myself. I know the voice of my Lord and I know what He has spoken about my native brothers and the leadership role they are to play in the final preparation for the return of Jesus Christ for His church. The misery, suffering and abuse that has occasioned among the native Canadians has not been without purpose, for it is through such fires of affliction that one ultimately comes to rely most fully upon God. Who shall be the ones that move into the truth of their spiritual inheritance and do not waste the price paid in suffering for having come this far shall soon be apparent. I am going to make but a few observations that may help those truly determined to redeem both people and land to the glory of our Father, in service to the Lord Jesus Christ.
The manifestation of native spiritualism in the church is but part of the larger satanically fueled doctrine of toleration that has infected the church through deceptive movements within the ecumenical thrust worldwide. There has evolved a mixing of the profane and the holy in a desperate attempt to have unity between churches and cultures that is actually destroying us all. Because we are viewing conditions from the basis of a great variety to the native culture or tribal groups in Canada the picture often becomes obscured. In addition, because the native cultural fabric has been torn and the people socially ravaged in many manners all talk surrounding First Nations culture can become emotionally explosive. One cannot fault native Canadians for desiring redress of grievances and settlements of treaties that were never completed or originally may have been attained through what was simply a format of extortion. In turn the restoration of dialects, the recognition of cultural art forms in such things as carvings and dance and establishing of a written and artifacts history of the First Nations are positive things for the native Canadian and Canada as a whole. Add to it traditional methods of native food harvesting – preparation, tools and clothing manufacturing and other forms of social interaction and you have an interesting and rich cultural base to take a natural pride in. Where the problem has arisen or violation of God’s conditions necessary for genuine physical spiritual blessings takes place is the inability to separate culture from spiritualism. However, it is ludicrous when Christians, be they white, brown, red or black, come forth with a blanket condemnation of native cultural practices. It is heartbreaking however to see the superstitious clinging to ancestor worship and heathen spiritual practices that call upon the guidance or self-occupancy by demonic spirits embodied as animals, birds or marine life. Every true practicing Christian knows that it contravenes the word of God to interact, seek out or praise spirits other than that of the living God of the Bible. The Lord also tells us the many negative results that occasion from such practices to any person or cultural group that does such. It is not just elements of the North American indigenous population that is entrapped in such activities for it is a phenomena worldwide and encompassing all cultures. However, the culture of concern here is that of the First Nations of Canada for it is persons from this grouping that the Lord is calling out most loudly to now.
In pointing out the simple demarcation line between culture and spiritualism or idolatry that it represents we are going to look briefly at only the aspect of dancing. Dancing before the Lord was highly suspect in decades past and remains so for many churches today, in spite of the scriptural admonition: “Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.” (Ps 149:3) Two things that evidence about dance in the scriptures is that it is never done in mourning and it is not a form of supplication for purpose of receiving something from God. Dancing led of the Spirit in scripture is always an expression of joy and form of praising God for actions taken on our behalf: “Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; to the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee forever.” (Ps 30:11-12) There is “a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance” as shown in the Bible and we should not quench the Spirit when He leads in this. (Ecc 3:4) This form of Spirit led dancing is translated from original Greek and Hebrew as skipping or leaping for joy, and can entail moving in a circular motion while doing such by an individual or a group of people. It is not simply a patterned or learned behavior but a spontaneous reaction under the influence of the Spirit of God and erupts of its own accord. Those under such leading do not bungle or bump into people and there may or may not be some instrumental praise of God occasioning at the same time. Such righteous act of dancing before the Lord in spontaneous joyful praise and thanksgiving was displayed by David at the return of the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. (2 Samuel 6:12-18) We see such spiritual ecstasy displayed as well by the lame man when God uses Peter to heal him: “And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God” (Acts 3:7-9) Musical accompaniment is not necessary and what is encountered in many renewal meetings is nothing more than spirits of the flesh under the influence of musical hype. Entering one such gathering with the Christian rock blaring and people bouncing up and down the Lord spoke to me saying: “the fleas are jumping but the dog is dead”. The genuine source of spiritual life and activation of the Holy Spirit simply was not there and their actions were neither those of David nor that of the lame man. People were simply copycatting one another in a learned behavior as ritualistic as the line dancing of the wine stoned cowboys or relentless repetition of the liturgy of the Roman Catholic mass.
If one is taught to dance before the Lord in any manner it is nothing more than a meaningless ritualistic action most often occasioned through spirits of deception. However, this does not mean there are not patterned expressions of movement praising God from a heart filled with joy of the Lord. These types of dances of celebration or thanksgiving for God’s blessing done in unison by the Israelites were normally deliberate actions of praise associated with such events as blessings of bountiful crops. This dancing was a truly joyful occasion performed by the women and it is never seen being performed singularly. (Ex 15:20; 1Sa 18:6) Never were such devout displays done simply for the entertainment of men and the only place you see a young woman displaying herself in such manner through dance occasions the works of Satan. It is through using her young daughter to dance before Herod and his drunken cronies that Herodias was able to have John the Baptist beheaded. (M’k 6:17-27) There is nothing holy in any form of singular sensual dance performance whether it is by the stripper at the bar or the prima ballerina posturing about the stage. One is just more socially acceptable than the other and both are some form of artistic performance by carnal man. And, what difference does it make whether the solo performer is male or female as the potential for lust to conceive itself is not bound to either sex. However, within the physical aspect of dance, the same as with for example gymnastics, we do know there is an element of disciplined control of the body that is to be admired. It is the purpose for which the action is being performed that determines whether or not it has any intrinsic value about ones life. As to Godly spiritual values in ones life due to such displays there is none. Disciplined artistic expression through dance can have a purely entertaining value and this is the only approach that one should take toward the cultural displays of dancing expressed by First Nations dancers, Russian sword dancers or the prancing dancing horses of the RCMP musical ride. One may publicly thank God for the skills He has graced them with to excel in these areas, but never give the pretense that anyone should sit back and be entertained in assembly by them as some form of worship of the God we serve. There is nothing wrong with times of special gathering and joyful display of the skills and graces God has bestowed upon us but one cannot mix the profane with the holy no matter how skilled the performance might be. Many ecumenical gatherings are bringing into play all manners of worship and offering them up as a celebration of their love in unity. Such things as Maori warrior dances, aboriginal horn blowing, North American native spirit dances and Christian hymns are bound together and offered as a sacrifice of worship to our God. Some of the practices and forms being used were traditionally offered in supplication to or the glorifying of pagan gods or spirits. How such offerings have suddenly become suitable sacrifice to our Lord eludes me. It is like being told that a hammer is now meant to saw wood. Has God in some manner purified these formerly symbolic pagan offerings so that they are now suitable to Him? If they were not suitable prior to their ecumenical usage then what makes them suitable now? How can a Christian be united in such worship and not be practicing spiritual harlotry? Could a satanic ritual suddenly be performed to the glory of God? Can man set aside that which is suitable worship to God in the cause of unity and truly be ushering in His Kingdom? This is highly unlikely for our God has always been extremely fastidious about what is an acceptable offering in His sight. We have Biblical record of the penalty paid by those in a unified stance offering to God in forms not acceptable to Him. Read and heed: “And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censor, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which He commanded them not. And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.” (Le 10:1-2) God is very jealous of the matters that He has ordered and we cannot thoughtlessly act in what we believe is a ‘good action’ if it truly does not accord with His word. I tell you that extreme caution must be taken in these end times in whom you unite with and how you worship our God. As Satan’s demise draws ever closer he must increase his efforts toward your destruction. Judge yourself if you need to repent of your toleration of sin and unrepentant sinners in your midst that continue to defy the living God. Perhaps the blanket of deception covering you is so great you think you stand above the one who created you? God says that no matter what we do the unrepentant will not gain His favor. Our efforts to extend favor that God does not command are both a sign of deception and an act of disobedience upon our part. “Let favor be shown to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the Lord.” (Isa 26:10)
Undoubtedly there are persons who dance to deify or conjure up spirits other than God among the patterned dances of some of the first nations people. They should be warned and rebuked for the problems they are drawing down upon the people that come to blindly follow them. If they could repent and but display the forms of dance concerned as enactments of former heathen practices of their ancestors then there would be no more affront to God than one doing the ballet. It is the intention of the individual dancers themselves in performance and not the dance itself that comprises the spiritualism and idolatry. To talk of the wolf or raven as being the emblem of ones clan and retain its imagery as such is no more an issue with God than the Scotsman that has his tartan or shield as a demarcation of family lineage. But to speak out that there is a sacred wolf and promote that one should elevate or seek its guidance or strength is spiritual harlotry and spiritualism that is abomination with the Lord that must be repented of. Something that is holy is separate and consecrated to the worship and use of God alone, such as the sacredness of the sanctuary dedicated exclusively to Him or the day of rest called the Sabbath. There is nothing sacred about a wolf deigned to be the medium of a familiar spirit that occupied ones ancestors. The fact is that demon spirits occupy every form of idolatry. Idolatry takes place when we worship anything created of man instead of worshiping God. We tend to think of idols as being physical objects or images, but for the New Testament Christian idolatry is not so much the bowing down before a statue, although such is still rampant, rather it is the mental harlotry of replacing God with anything in the mind of the purported believer and worshiper. As soon as anything comes between us and God be it physical or mental that thing is an idol. The Bible repeatedly warns us not to be involved in any form of idolatry either consciously or unconsciously, and neither publicly nor in private. All forms of idolatry and every idol whether mental, physical or a combination of the same has a demon associated with it that induces the idolatry with its associated forms of worship. Idols of themselves are nothing without the demons that lie behind them seducing people. The enticement and deception of idolatry in all pagan religions such as sports, drugs, sex, horoscopes, adventure, spiritualism, witchcraft, entertainment, knowledge and science is so strong in the last days that even the plagues sent upon the earth will not deter it. Men will refuse to give up the symbols or the thing that is destroying them and turn to God: “And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:” (Re 9:20) Idolatry comprises a most dangerous and deceptive foe because of the spirits that lie behind it, not because of the style of idolatry. “Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” (1Ti 4:1) These seducing spirits take many into a ‘land of compromise’ within the church and we find mixtures of worship of the true God with idols of mental creation. The true object of worship for a plethora of modern ministers are such things as deeds done in the name of the Lord and pursuit of reputation or fame. For the clergy and layman alike we find the material objects of cars, land, houses and ‘hobbies’ topping our physical idols list. Mentally our prime idols have become love of self, self-image, family, popular heroes and carnal appetites of the flesh. All such activities are based upon the deceit of pride. The prophet Hosea tied together the ideas of idolatry, physical adultery and spiritual adultery into a vivid portrayal of the state of deception we face today. We see this because an idolater is not simply someone bowing down to a physical object. An idolater is someone who has become a slave to the ideas that his idol represents and these ‘ideas’ create lusts of one form or another that lead to separation from God. The sins of the mind and the sins of the flesh become bound together in a form of idolatry that we should recognize and avoid at all costs. Such is the case as shown with covetousness, which can be defined as ‘an intense desire to possess someone or something that belongs to another person’. One does not normally think of covetousness as ‘idolatry’ but that is how the apostle Paul labeled such sin: “Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry.” (Col 3:5) The warning against this form of idolatry is strong: “For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.” (Eph 5:5) Those who display the idolatry of covetousness are either steeped in deception or have an arrogant disregard of God’s law that shall lead to heavy chastisement. There is a greedy self-centeredness to such persons that seek out their own hedonistic self-gratification no matter the cost or method they have to employ. Such are the ‘anti-Christ’s’ among us, and those people that have been given a ‘delusion of God’ because of their continuous refusal to listen to His word. (2Th 2: 7-12) We are to separate ourselves from all forms of idolatry and idols. Do you want to determine if your favorite ‘activity’, idea or relationship has become an idol and time sucking demon in your life that hinders your walk with God? Try parting with it or giving it up for a period of time. If you cannot then you had better turn toward God and away from whatever is occupying you whether it be symbolic dancing or employing the methods of man in your church assemblies, for you probably have become the victim of a seducing spirit.
The native spiritualism that has invaded the church in some sectors is real but we shall see its demise for when “the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.” (Isa 59:19) That spirit is the standard of the lion of the tribe of Judah rousing itself as the living Christ and a burning fire within many native brethren across this land. That the Holy Spirit it is starting to pour forth from the west coast of Canada I have no doubt. I am hearing men crying out for return to the old ways and asking God for the old paths as others continue to choose the wisdom of their elders that walked the pathway of the wolf. There is no weariness in some of the Christian native brothers rising up for it is the spirit of Jesus that is on the prowl within them and they will no longer tolerate the spirits ravaging about their first nations land. What many men have forgotten is that once all of North America was first nations land, thus our brothers are arising to cleanse a church that will reflect the true spiritual unity of the Son of Man throughout the entire continent. In the spirit realm there has erupted a ‘dog fight’ and the feathers, fur and fins are flying straight in the direction of the eternal lake of fire. To the first nations Christian warriors I need only say this: your victory is assured in the name and power of the Lord Jesus Christ “for faithful is he that calls you, who also will do it.” (1Th 5:24) Take pride in being scorned as “that Indian or that Uncle Tomahawk” who has remained the true friend of Jesus and all mankind as you hit the warpath and scatter God’s enemies about this land. It is time to bring to perfection the body of Christ that all creation groans and waits for. God bless you and through you all that choose to walk the warpath of Jesus Christ that you follow for our Jesus is a returning Warrior King.
Our spiritual battle rages on but for many indigenous persons I know their continuance to glorify and play with native artifacts such as the Dream Catcher has magnified itself in idolatrous manner. The result has been that for most involved in such fashion their Dream Catcher has trapped them in a Spiritual Nightmare from which I pray Jesus provides them with escape. Unfortunately most indigenous spiritual leadership now qualify as the Watchmen spoken of by Isaiah: “His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter. (Isaiah 56:10-11) To those following the ‘narrow old path’ I remind you that Daniel 5 clearly indicates Our Lord will not tolerate the mixing of Paganism with His Christianity! “Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets; behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.” (Acts 13:40-41) As instructed I continue to declare the Truth of this work unto you.
